My New Year's resolution is to be better about documenting events in your life, Adalyn. I already feel guilty that I haven't kept any type of journal for you and you are almost 5 months old now. When I was pregnant with you, I was determined to write about events and changes at least weekly, but I barely managed to write your birth story 2 months after you was born. However, I didn't expect that being a mother would be so time consuming. Adalyn, you never takes naps unless I am holding you, and even at that they only last 15 minutes, and you doesn't go to bed until midnight. This makes it very difficult to get anything done during the day other than taking care of you and playing with you. But I LOVE playing with you!!!
This blog post will be about Adalyn up until now and then I hope to stay more current by blogging at least once a week.
The first week of your life was exciting and terrifying. The drive home from the hospital was so scary! Your Dad and I were so worried that we didn't have the carseat installed safely and that something terrible would happen to you on the 10 minute drive home. I sat in the back and held your head upright because I was worried you would stop breathing if I didn't. When we put you to bed the first night home we were worried about whether we should swaddle you and how you should lay so you would be safe in the night. Your Dad and I did not have a restful sleep because we woke up every time you made a noise and we couldn't fall back asleep because we were worried that you was being too quiet.
